Terms of Use

The short version

Chats are monitored. RecruitUP staff can review messages, profiles and highlights to keep athletes safe. Don't share anything you wouldn't want our team to see.

Harmful users are removed immediately. Harassment, inappropriate messages, fake profiles, or any attempt to move a minor to a private channel gets an account removed right away, without a refund.

Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must approve before a minor's profile is shown, and can see the athlete's likes, profile views and chats in a free parent view. Only verified coaches can contact athletes under 18.

Recruiting rules apply. College coaches must follow NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA contact rules. RecruitUP blocks contact before allowed dates, but coaches are responsible for following their association's rules.

Be honest. Use your real name, real stats and your own highlights. Coaches must use their real school, club or college.

1. Who can use RecruitUP

You must be at least 13 years old. Athletes under 18 may use RecruitUP only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who confirms by email or in a free RecruitUP parent account. Coaches must be current coaches or staff of the high school, club or college they list.

2. Monitoring and moderation

To protect athletes, RecruitUP may review profiles, photos, highlight videos, likes and messages, including private messages, at any time. We use reports from users and our own review. By using RecruitUP you agree to this monitoring.

3. Removal of harmful users

We may suspend or remove any account immediately, without warning and without a refund, if we believe it is harmful, including: harassment, threats, sexual or inappropriate content, requests for personal contact information or private meetings with a minor outside the rules of this app, impersonation, fake profiles or stats, spam, or breaking recruiting rules. We may report suspected abuse of a minor to law enforcement.

4. Contact with minors

Only coaches verified by RecruitUP can contact athletes under 18. Messaging is allowed only after the athlete accepts a like. A parent or guardian who approved an athlete under 18 can see that athlete's likes, profile views and messages (read-only) in the RecruitUP parent view, and can pause the profile, block or report people. Anyone messaging an athlete under 18 agrees that the athlete's parent or guardian may read those messages. Parents and guardians may ask us at any time to remove their child's account.

5. Recruiting rules

College coaches agree to follow the recruiting rules of their association (for example NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA), including dates when contact is allowed. RecruitUP blocks some contact before allowed dates, but each coach is responsible for following the rules that apply to them.

6. Your content

You are responsible for what you post. Only upload photos and videos you have the right to share. You allow RecruitUP to display your content to other users of the app so they can evaluate and contact you.

7. Memberships

Athlete memberships are sold in 3-month or 1-year plans. RecruitUP is currently free for coaches and parents; we will tell you in the app before that changes. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A membership renews automatically for the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple. Removal for breaking these rules does not entitle you to a refund.

8. Privacy and security

Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored on encrypted servers. Access is limited to the people you connect with and RecruitUP staff for safety review. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Reporting

Use "Report or block" on any profile or chat. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we will ask you to accept them again in the app.
